Each concert lasts 10 minutes
Due to the Coronavirus outbreak, the North Netherlands Orchestra (NNO) cannot put on its usual series of concerts throughout the summer. However, they have come with a special alternative initiative: concerts for just one visitor.
“Because in times of crisis like this, when cultural life had come to a complete standstill, the need for real personal contact, connection and a new musical experience grows,” said the NNO to GIC.nl
The individual concerts are similar to Marina Abramovitch’s performance ‘The Artist is Present’, or the 1:1 concerts by the Staatsoper Stuttgart.
The concerts last ten minutes, with an audience of one, and one musician present. Twenty musicians from the NNO are participating in the project. The musician, and the instrument they will play will only be revealed on the day.
The concerts take place in the Grand Theater, the Martini Church, Atelier Dolf Verlinden, the Lutheran Church, and at Godert Walter Bookshop.
