Nordica had to cancel multiple flights in recent weeks due to technical problems with their aircraft and crew members falling ill. Groningen Airport Eelde and Nordica have discussed the issues and have decided to station a reserve aircraft and pilot at the Copenhagen airport.
According to RTV Noord, Nordica’s CEO Sven Kukemelk attributes the streak of bad luck to Murphy’s Law. “I’ve worked in the airline industry for 20 years and I’ve never seen anything like it”, Kukemelk says.
The airline is also actively recruiting Dutch cabin crew members to staff their aircraft stationed at Eelde. Groningen Airport Eelde is reportedly satisfied with the additional measures: Nordica flies to Copenhagen, Munich and Ibiza from the Drenthe airport.
