Train travelers in the region will have to make sure they go before leaving the house: according to Dagblad van het Noorden, frigid temperatures mean that the toilets on the Arriva trains in Drenthe, Friesland and Groningen are temporarily out of service.
The train between Emmen and Zwolle is impacted, among others. The toilets have been closed as a precaution because the tanks where urine and other waste is captured could freeze, making it impossible to empty them. Arriva has placed stickers on the toilet doors to inform passengers about the temporary closure.
