Founded in Friesland can help guide entrepreneurs to success
By Thomas Ansell
A stylish new website hopes to stimulate more people towards starting a business in Friesland- Founded in Friesland, which launched this week.
The website has (Corona-proof) event listings, loads of useful information, and also gives people the chance of getting in touch with entrepreneurs already finding success in the Province. Friesland aims to create a unique start-up ‘eco-system’, with entrepreneurs and institutions banding together to help people start a business, or bring an idea to market.
Those interested can also get information about capital-raising, for example subsidies, investors, and alternative financing. Close bonds with the ‘clusters’ (that focus intensively on one sector) means that those with the right ideas can be linked to organisations with expertise and experience.
There’s a mentoring programme, too, and a team of experience operators guiding the project. Founded in Friesland joins other projects like Founded in Groningen, Make it in the North, and Start-Up Visa Groningen– all of which are focused on making the North a great place for (International) start-ups to base themselves.
