One of the most important infrastructure projects in the center of Groningen is almost ready for buses, cyclists, and walkers to use. The sparkling new Kattenbrug Bridge will open to public transport on Friday, February 11, the Groninger Internet Courant reports.

The new bridge, which spans the Schuitendiep canal, is expected to make the bus connections smoother and give the center more space. The Municipality of Groningen hopes it will help transform the area into an upmarket neighborhood dotted with trendy cafes and boutiques.
The Kattenbrug Bridge is nicely integrated into surroundings and set to become an important passageway and recreational area for pedestrians and cyclists.
