Even though the Coronavirus has forced many businesses to close, these grim times are not discouraging entrepreneurs from opening new businesses

Despite the strict anti-Coronavirus measures, and the uncertainty that this situation imposes, there are still several businesses about to be opened in Groningen. The majority of them offer you a great place to pick up food. City blog Oogst Groningen charts all of these new openings, and The Northern Times has checked up on the latest openings they’ve found!
Restaurant Boeddha Eye, for instance. At this ready to open restaurant in Rodenmarkt, you will be able to enjoy the most delicious Nepalese and Indian dishes, or try it for the first time. All dishes are prepared by two Nepalese natives, who want to bring you their tasty traditional food, using recipes perfected over time.
The Boeddha Eye will open on February 18, and it includes a variety of traditional foods at very affordable prices. The menu also includes some dishes for vegetarians, making the restaurant an ideal place for anyone.
Douwe Egberts Café Groningen will also open very soon, so keep an eye on their Facebook page! Meanwhile, you can still enjoy their delicious coffee on the go.
The Donut Company on Oude Kijk in Het Jatstraat opened last week. The company is open from Tuesday to Sunday, and offers a variety of donuts for all tastes and events. The Donut Company has themed donuts for Valentine’s Day, parties, and businesses. Check out their website and enjoy their homemade donuts!
On Verlengde Visserstraat you can pick up food from the Broodkram Kruijer food truck, every Thursday to Saturday. The truck offers a variety of warm sandwiches and drinks.
If you want to try true traditional Italian pizza, Pizzeria La Astoria, located on Poelestraat, is a great choice. You can pick up the pizza yourself, or have La Astoria deliver it to you. Check out their Facebook page for more information!
If you want to enjoy a good buttle of wine after a delicious meal, the newly opened wine store Vin Natuur on Oude Wijn in’t Vatstraat is a great place to go. You will not only support a local business, but you will also enjoy great wine. Vin Natuur is open only for delivery.
