The line-up for the festival will not be announced until around the end of April, according to Dagblad van het Noorden. The festival is hoping to attract around 30,000 attendees to its inaugural edition this summer, and the music will start at 5 p.m. on Friday and noon on Satruday
According to Cathelijne van Grinsven, who is head of partnerships at 4PM entertainment and is in charge of Hullaballoo, the popular rock festival Lollapalooza which began in Chicago and now tours throughout the world served as inspiration for the Groningen event.
The 2019 edition will be two days long, and festival goers can camp out in the park, but Grinsven tells the Dagblad that organisers hope to extend it to three to four days in the future.
Hullabaloo will feature 50 different artists on four different stages:
Mayhem: The main stage
The “powerhouse” of the festival grounds, this stage will feature Dutch and international bands from a range of genres, including acoustic sets and electronic artists
Hurly-Burly: pure pop
This stage will highlight the “pearls of the Dutch pop music scene” and hits from abroad
Brouhaha: crossover
Hip hop, R&B, pop music and the spots where they overlap will find their home at this stage
Fuss stage: electronica
Electronica acts with impressive stage shows will be featured at this location
4PM is organising a range of other large scale events in the Stadspark in the coming months, starting with the Kingsland festival on King’s Day, the Groningse Terrassen Festival in late May and the new festival Stadspark Live in June.
