From August 14, one-day festivals with a maximum of 750 people will be allowed
The Dutch government has decided that from August 14 one-day festivals will be allowed with a maximum of 750 people. This means that both Hullabaloo Festival and Paradigm Festival Groningen will have to be cancelled, with thousands of tickets already having been been sold for both Hullabaloo and Paradigm, reports the GIC.
Paradigm was to take place on 14 and 15 August at the Suikerunieterrein. They had sold almost all 12,000 tickets. Hullabaloo was scheduled for August 28 in the Stadspark in Groningen, but both festivals will be moved to next year.
Other events
There are now strict rules for festivals from August 14, with a maximum of 750 attendees. This has to be done outside, or in a tent that is open on four sides. Visitors must also have a vaccination or test certificate. Events with fixed seats can continue.
It therefore seems that the Noorderzon performing arts festival can also continue, within the current plans of the organization.
It is still uncertain what the consequences of the new measures will be for the KEI week. They have already scaled down the normal program, but the question is whether parties will be organised, which are only allowed 750 new students.
