A kid-friendly miniature version of the TT Assen race track will officially be unveiled at the Koopmansplein in the centre of Assen next week.

The outline of the track, complete with curb colours, began taking shape in a former parking lot in Assen on Tuesday, and motorcycle racer Dion Otten and alderperson Roald Leemrijse will officially open the new miniature track in the city centre at 2 p.m. on Wednesday 8 May.
RTV Drenthe reports that during the grand opening, children can make their way around the track, on pedal carts and take part in a number of races. The creation of the track is part of a wider municipal initiative to encourage residents to engage in recreational activities in the city.
