Mega Piraten Festijn, a celebration of ‘Dutch party music’ will take place on Saturday in Klazienaveen
Translated by Thomas Ansell
One of the largest ‘Dutch party music’ festivals in the North has nearly sold out of tickets for this year. The Mega Piraten Festijn now only has physical tickets available, with organizer Eddie Mensink expecting up to 6,500 attendees. As reported by RTV Drenthe.
The lineup includes all of the biggest names in Dutch ‘party music’, including Bonnie St. Claire, Mooi Wark, Jannes; Gerard Joling, and Lange Frans. What a collection.
Mega Piraten Festijn is a travelling festival, and last week sold out in Marum, Groningen. “Now we can let loose again, let’s let loose!”, says Mensink, “the public have certainly been looking forward to it.”
Entry to the festival will only be allowed with a CoronaCheck QR code, noting someone’s test or vaccination status. Mensink says that although he’s pleased that events can go ahead again in the Netherlands, “we lag behind both Germany and Belgium”.
“But after Klazienaveen, we’ll head to Brabant (Maaskantje), and then Gelderland (Zelhem”, says Mensink.
More information is available on the festival website.
