On Thursday, 10 May, the annual May fun fair will get underway across Groningen.

From 10 May through 21 May, the Grote Markt, Vismarkt and Ossenmarkt will be converted into fairgrounds during the traditional May fun fair.
The Grote Markt and Vismarkt will feature amusement rides including Break Dance, Super Mouse, bumper cars, the Booster Maxxx pendulum ride, Ultimate Shake-It, Around the World and a Ferris wheel.
For fair goers with a strong stomach, the Reactor is a new addition to the Grote Markt this year: a fast-moving ride with a spinning platform connected to a spinning arm the moves through the air.
Visitors can also test their luck at claw games, coin pushers and other familiar fun fair features.
The Ossenmarkt rides are nostalgia-themed, including a traditional swing ride, a mini Ferris wheel, a boat carousel, the Cakewalk and the Calypso.
