Michel de Vries is the owner of an antiquariat book store in the city of Groningen
Yawning is generally associated with dullness, but Michel de Vries from Groningen says that it’s actually quite the opposite: it’s healthy, and puts you in a different mood. De Vries, who is from Groningen, will testhis theory by yawning for seven hours as part of the “Collective Wandering” art festival in Bierum on the weekend.
As reported by the DvhN, the art festival will consist of eleven performances, one of which will feature De Vries yawning for seven hours in a row. He wants to investigate whether it is possible to continue yawning “to achieve a different relationship with your environment”.
During his yawning session, visitors can join and yawn, thereby making it interactive art. De Vries has already practiced long yawning twice in recent weeks, but each time that was considerably shorter than seven hours.
Let’s hope he watches out for flies during his performance…
