International criminals evidently like neolithic monuments
In the sparsely populated province of Drenthe it is seemingly quite easy to start a drugs lab. This became apparent after the discovery of a chemical drug lab in two houses in a residential area in Nieuw-Roden, a village in North Drenthe.
Political parties in the province of Drenthe believe that measures should be taken against the growth of serious, organised crime in this province.
The rapid advance of serious organised crime in Drenthe is part of a wider trend across the Netherlands that signals a failure of approach from the Dutch government. As reported by RTV Drenthe.
That local political party JA21 (who are a splinter faction of the FvD, and so espouse right to extreme-right policies) want the Provincial Council to do more to tackle organised crime in the Province after the Nieuw-Roden discover.
Dangerous in residential area
Local party chairman Thomas Blinde says that the Nieuw-Roden discovery is particularly bad because the dangerous and unstable labs were located in a residential area.
“The latest incident in Nieuw-Roden shows the rapid advance of organised crime in Drenthe and in the rest of the Netherlands. The organisations behind synthetic drug production are now turning the Netherlands into a narco state. Also in Drenthe it is all hands on deck. After all, more and more drug waste is being found here too, and all figures show that Drenthe is increasingly in the picture among undermining, international drug criminals.”
Italian public prosecutors think the Netherlands is ‘naïve’ on international criminals
“According to the Italian Public Prosecution Service, the Netherlands is naive when it comes to the mafia and organized crime. In addition to the fact that the Netherlands is logistically interesting for drug criminals, we also have a mentality problem, according to the Italians. In this way we make it far too easy for serious criminals” said Blinde.
