The LIFE Science Innovation Award finalists have been revealed. The three startups Enatom, Ivy Medical, and Neolook Solutions, will be pitching their innovations at this year’s LIFE Science conference with the theme Data Science for Life Science.
In a press release, organisers said the conference is held yearly by the LIFE Cooperative and its partners. The award, which is a big part of it, is especially for innovations that impact life sciences and health with their origins in the Northern Netherlands. Enatom specialises in 3D visual techniques in the area of human anatomy, Ivy Medical is transforming drip therapy with their new technology, and Neolook Solutions helps nurses and caregivers take better care of vulnerable patients.
Companies can be nominated for the award and then the LIFE Cooperative chooses 3 finalists. LIFE Cooperative Director Peter Ketelaar thinks the 3 finalists are exciting as they have a “noticeable impact on the regional innovations” which was a big part of the selection process. They’ve looked at the origin of the companies, their possible impact, and how relevant they are to society.
The finalists are chosen by the jury on the 24th of September atthe Forum and are all representatives from the NV NOM, the municipality of Groningen, and Health Holland. The winner gets a trophy and €5000.
