Current providers say they cannot continue to guarantee quality care
Translated by Thomas Ansell
Four parties that are responsible for social care in Leeuwarden want out- and will not put themselves forward for a new tender. The care companies are Alliade, the Kwadrantgroep, the GGZ; and Zienn, as reported by Omrop Fryslân.
The care organisations are responsible for, amongst other things, daily activities and home care. They say that they cannot guarantee the quality of their care if the gemeente continues with its tender activities.
According to the gemeente there are several other interested parties that have applied to take over care in the city. “This will ensure that there are enough high-quality providers for additional support after 2021”, said a memo to the gemeente.
The gemeente itself was aware of issues raised by the care companies that are now backing away. Once the new care-giving organisations are known, the gemeente will make various appointments to that clients and patients know exactly where they stand as quickly as possible.
The gemeente now has a year to search for the new care-providers.
