Carver’s electric vehicle range has received a large boost

Carver is a Leeuwarden-based trike manufacturer that achieved various headlines around 2009 with its Carver One leaning trike. Since then it has diversified into electric vehicles and vehicles suitable for small cities, and the new 1.5 million euro investment is likely to be used to develop the Carver Cargo autocycle. As reported by the Omrop Fryslân.
Anton Rosier, the head of Carver, hadn’t expected to raise so much money so quickly: “it was really remarkable, but also wonderful. We’ve noticed that the investment we have raised is from both large and small investors.”
With more and more cities forbidding diesel powered vehicles in their city centres, Carver has an opportunity to offer an alternative solution. “It’s not an alternative for everyone, but there are lots of companies looking for electric delivery vehicles. These are often between 40,000 and 50,000 euros”, says Rosier.
Carver will likely produce between 1,200 and 2,000 autocycles this year.
