Dagblad van het Noorden reports that the finishing touches are still being carried out on the open water park in Drenthe before its grand opening this weekend. Roger Langenbach and Marjolein Vos are the co-owners of the natural water park which is built around the Gaaselterveld. The body of water is uniquely clear: it was formed over the course of the past 80 years due to its former use as a sand excavation pit.
The park will feature six water slides – 7 meters, 9 meters and 11 meters – an inflatable obstacle course, trampolines, multiple giant air bags on the shore and the water and other aquatic activities. The water park should be able to accommodate up to 200 guests at a time, but certain attractions will require a swim diploma and will not be open to children under 12.
The water park is connected to a camp grounds nearby, which Langenbach and Vos also co-own, and campers will receive discounted admission to the water park. General admission tickets are 25 euros for three hours.
