The Dutch meteorological institute, KNMI, has issued a code yellow weather warning for the northeastern region of the Netherlands, including the provinces of Drenthe, Groningen, and Overijssel. The warning is in effect from 14:00 to 18:00 hours today.

Residents of Drenthe and Groningen should be prepared for potentially severe weather conditions during this period, as there is a possibility of heavy showers, accompanied by thunderstorms. The weather system may also bring the risk of hail and wind gusts reaching speeds of approximately 65 km/h.

Authorities advise residents in the affected areas to stay informed about the weather updates and take necessary precautions to ensure their safety. It is essential to stay indoors if possible and avoid outdoor activities during the alert period to minimize potential risks.

Local emergency services and authorities are on high alert to respond to any weather-related incidents, and residents are encouraged to reach out for assistance if needed.

As the weather situation develops, the KNMI will provide further updates and adjustments to the warning if necessary. Stay tuned to official weather channels and local news outlets for the latest information to stay safe during this weather event.
