There are (apparently) 5,594 open vacancies in Groningen
The number of unfilled vacancies in Groningen has risen sharply in the past year, according to research by the enormous staffing giant, Randstad. Where there were 2,885 vacancies last year, there are now almost twice as many, namely 5,594. As reported by OOGTV.
Sales people and skills shortages
The demand for salespeople is greatest: 192 vacancies in this sector remained unfilled in July. This is a twice as many as a year ago, when there were 95 vacancies. There is also a lot of demand for electricians, with 135 vacancies.
In Groningen it is especially difficult to find the right personnel for the fields of technology, sales and marketing and construction. There has been an enormous scarcity for a long time, according to Randstad. This problem can only be solved through training, retraining and further training. The influx from education is currently insufficient to curb the scarcity in certain professional groups, says the staffing agency.
