The Erasmus Student Network (ESN) Groningen introduction week for new international students starts this Friday.
The six-day programme features different activities each day and runs until the 4th of September. While all students living and studying in Groningen can join, the week is organised especially for new ones starting their new college life here. Various events will show what student life is like in Groningen and will allow students to get to meet many of their peers.
In this introduction week, you will be paired up with 16 other students from different countries guided by two introduction guides who are students who have been living in Groningen for a while. The guides will be leading your group for the whole week’s programme, help you find your way around Groningen, and answer any questions.
The ESN intro week is open to all students living and studying in Groningen and Master, Bachelor, or exchange students from universities in and around Groningen such as Hanze, University of Groningen, UCG, NHL Stenden and others.
The programme will contain events such as a culture day, a pub crawl, and Dutch lessons. The full programme is listed on the website. Since the programme continues while college is starting, the events on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday will all be in the evening to make sure no one has to miss classes.
Tickets for the introduction week are €40,50 and include access to the whole programme, an ESN card giving you access to all events organised by ESN Groningen throughout the year and giving you local and international discounts, and a goodie bag with useful information and discount vouchers. Tickets can be bought here.
if you’re not a (new) student but still want to be involved, you can also consider becoming an introduction guide or part of the ESN crew.
