The Netherlands is represented at the event by a team of students from the Eindhoven University of Technology. The Dutch team is participating in the electric car category of the event – the other category is combustible engine vehicles.
According to the Formula Student Netherlands site, the event is focused on innovative mobility and design. Racing events have been going on at the track since Monday, and Thursday will feature endurance and efficiency events, as well as an award ceremony in the evening.
RTV Drenthe reports that the Assen event is the first in a series of competitions across Europe. The teams will also face off in Germany, Spain and Hungary in the coming months.
