The International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam (IDFA) was successfully held at Groningen’s Forum.
At the festival, multiple documentaries made their debut on the big screen, along with conversations with the filmmakers.
Some notable English-spoken documentaries that were shown included One to One: John & Yoko, which is a visual collage showing you the era of John Lennon and Yoko Ono fighting for a better world, in their own unique way. The documentary is made up of historical TV and audio clips, some of which have never been seen before.
Another interesting English-spoken documentary is “Ernest Cole, Lost and Found”, which looks back at Cole’s work as the first photographer to capture what Apartheid in South Africa looked like and meant to black South Africans, like himself, as he photographed scenes of untold freedom and overt racism when exiled in the US.
The IDFA in Groningen concluded on Sunday.
