After being inspected at the port in Bremen, it has been determined that 291 containers fell overboard from the MSC Zoe altogether in the North Sea last week.

The Leeuwarder Courant cites 291 as the final figure from the Public Works & Water Management department. The containers were not carrying any hazardous materials, and search efforts using sonar will resume once weather in the North Sea permits. The Public Works & Water Management department will also resume its salvage operation as soon as possible.
Aside from local flooding and a portion of a former drilling location on Ameland washing away, there did not appear to much damage to the coastline or islands due to the storm as of Wednesday morning, nor was there a noticeable increase in the debris from the containers washing ashore.
On Tuesday, two empty peroxide bags were located on the German island of Borkum, along with bike parts and hand soap pumps. In total, 74 cubic meters of cargo were cleaned up on Tuesday on the German island, but clean-up efforts were put on hold on the Frisian and Groningen coasts and beaches due to the storm.
