RTV Noord reports that six trees were partially cut down: four are located on the Bakboordswal, one at the Holmsterheerd and one at the Groene Long motocross track.
The municipality reports that trees were not entirely sawed down and pose a potentially serious risk because they are unstable and could still fall. Alderperson Joost van Keulen described whoever cut into the trees as an “idiot”.
The municipality has filed a report to the police following the incident.
