Along with the Hyperloop test centre, Groningen could become a key part of the green transport revolution
As reported by The Northern Times yesterday, a hydrogen truck factory will soon be coming to the North, thanks to a new partnership between Holthausen and the US-based company Hyzon.
For a long time, the company Holthausen quietly worked on a potential collaboration, before signing a contract to build a Hyzon factory for hydrogen trucks in Groningen. “That is really very special. You can compare it with bringing in a Tesla factory!”, says Max Holthausen. As reported by the GIC.
Holthausen has partnered with Hyzon Motors for a reasonably long time already. Together they now are looking for a location for a new factory, where in the long term about 2,000 dedicated hydrogen trucks will be built per year. The first 100 hydrogen trucks should be on the road by the end of 2021. “We have already started production of the Hyzon trucks in the Holthausen locations,” said Max Holthausen, who, together with his father, Carl, manages the joint venture with Hyzon.
