WinterWelVaart in Groningen is just around the corner: the thirteenth edition of one of the most photographed events in the city takes place from Friday 20 to Sunday 22 December.

Soon, more than twenty attractively lit historic ships will moor in the center of Groningen, on the quays of the Hoge Lage and Kleine der A. Aside from the beautiful and festive appearances, there will also be an extensive music, theater and art program on board.

On shore, WinterWelVaart will host it’s attractive winter market. There will be fifty stalls filled with art, antiques and delicious food. Furthermore, visual artists from the A-Kwartier will open their studios. Visitors will be able to walk an art route and view the work of more than forty artists.

If you can’t make it to Groningen on the weekend of December 20 to 22, don’t worry! The historic ships of WinterWelVaart moor in two other places in the province. They will be in Zoutkamp on 14 December (11 AM-6 PM) and December 15 (11 AM-5 PM) and in Sappemeer on December 14 (10 AM – 5 PM).
