The Financieel Dagblad reports that there are 83 companies created per 1,000 graduates of the Hanze University of Applied Sciences. The Hanze was the highest ranked in the Netherlands. University of Groningen alumni create 23 businesses per 1,000 former students, according to the ranking. Out of 1,6000 global academic institutions in the U-Multirank system, the Hanze came in sixth place overall.
The 2018 edition of U-Multirank will be published on Tuesday, 5 June. The project relies on a wider range of indicators of a university’s performance than traditional rankings, such as knowledge transfer, international orientation and regional engagement.
A spokesperson for the Hanze told the FD that the institution explicitly focuses on entrepreneurship among its students, but the Netherlands Association of Universities of Applied Sciences says that the academic programmes at the Hanze are more or less in line with other similar Dutch programmes.
