Interim PM Mark Rutte and Interim Minister de Jonge will give another press conference tomorrow

As reported by the NOS, the current Dutch curfew could come to an end next week if Coronavirus infection figures continue to fall. As usual with the current Dutch government, the news has not been officially announced, but rather leaked to the newspaper via erstwhile ‘Hague Sources’.
Final details and decisions are yet to be made by the outgoing Dutch cabinet, though, and a final decision is to be taken tomorrow morning. If the curfew is to be lifted from next week, it is expected that the Dutch government will provide a ‘route card’ of detailed regulations that could begin to lift Coronavirus restrictions.
More will be revealed in a press conference tomorrow evening, but there is an overall trend of falling infections in the Netherlands. The RIVM yesterday announced the lowest number of new infections since October 2020.
Minister Arie Slob, of education (the one that considered letting schools teach that LGBTQI+ relationships are wrong), also announced on Sunday that primary schools and childcare services can re-open from February 8. The plan involves large numbers of quick-tests for teachers, and a mandatory quarantine for whole classes if someone comes down with the Coronavirus.
