According to a witness, an unidentified man who was found on Sunday night in the small town of Holtheme, close to the Drenthe town of Coevorden, had been shot.
Coevorden Huis aan Huis reports that the victim was still alive when the witness, who asked to remain anonymous, found him shortly after 6 p.m. on Sunday evening in an abandoned car. The victim passed away soon thereafter.

Police officers were attempting to revive him when the witness came across him. “They got the defibrillator out of the car and we pulled the man’s shirt up, and that’s when I could see that he had been shot multiple times.”
Shooting
According to RTV Drenthe, police spokesperson Henk Kremer confirmed that a suspected shooting was reported at De Haandrik in Holtheme around 6 p.m. on Sunday evening. Kremer would not confirm that the victim and a suspect in custody were residents of Coevorden, but unconfirmed reports in the city allege that the victim was the owner of a local grill and that the suspect was a former business associate.
