The best Dutch players will gather on the Grote Markt in Groningen for the Eredivisie beach volleyball

On Wednesday the Grote Markt was in a flurry of construction as sand was laid and nets were put up. This weekend, Groningen is hosting the Eredivisie beach volleyball tour, one of the highest Dutch beach volleyball competitions. The 12 best teams per gender class will be competing over Saturday and Sunday. A 500 euro prize awaits the winners of Sunday’s finals. The games are free and seating is available for anyone who would like to come and watch.
Among the notable athletes to display their prowess are Emi and Mexime van Driel. Both sisters have won silver in the World Championships for those under 19 years old and the King of the Court competition in Utrecht. Emi also won gold during the 2019 World Tour.
