The Jenever-producing company has also produced thousands of litres of rubbing alcohol
The Groninger alcohol company Hooghoudt has given the city a new message of hope. The iconic ‘Hooghoudt’, on top of the roof of the Vindicat headquarters, has been temporarily changed to read “Houdt Hoop” (Keep hope).
This follows the distillery’s initiative to temporarily adjust their production line to produce rubbing alcohol for the medical sector and the Food Bank in Groningen, reports the GIC.
Hooghoudt is also supporting the #helpdehoreca initiative as a partner, but also by actively buying coupons from the catering industry for all its own staff as a thank you for their inexhaustible efforts during this period.
The gin brand has changed the sign on the Grote Markt for various actions and purposes before now. For example, they read ‘Hoogheidt’ (your highness) before King’s Day 2018, when the king and his family visited the city of Groningen, and the letters spelled ‘Ho Ho Ho Hooghoudt’ last Christmas.
