Groningen’s top restaurants get together and develop gourmet takeaway box

Vive la Vie, De Haan, Voilá; Eetwar, and Bistro de Grote Frekerik have put their heads together for the delights

A luxury box full of tasty treats to celebrate New Years, from a series of Groninger restaurants has just launched in the city, reports the GIC. The box is a unique collaboration of five so-called ‘better’ restaurants – Vive la Vie, De Haan, Voilá, Eetwaar and Bistro de Grote Frederik .

Sole with hazelnut and dill, bisque with shrimp and sea buckthorn, celeriac with truffle and apple. Ham with ginger ale and quinoa: these are just a few of the dishes from the “Veul Haail and Zegen box”. The box is intended as a snack on New Year’s Eve, but according to Jeroen Sportel, chef of Vive la Vie, the ten dishes are also enough as a ten-course menu for 1 person.

The box contains five vegetarian snacks and five snacks with meat or fish, says Sportel, who is contributing a rendang terrine with peanut, coconut and mango and a snack of beet, goat yogurt, rose and dukkah. All participating restaurants have put forward two snacks; each a signature dish, the chef promises.

Do you also want to support the Groningen restaurants and enjoy ten top dishes at the same time? The box can be ordered for 59.50 euros at www.veulhaailenzegen.nl

The order can then be picked up on December 31.
