The Grote Markt has looked a little bare in the run-up to Christmas
As all things take their time, so too the placement of a Christmas tree on the Grote Markt in Groningen. With Sinterklaas (just) behind us, the city has finally graced the city’s main square with a giant christmas tree, which was set in place this morning, reports the GIC.
This afternoon, as nightfall descends, the lights will go on. The tree will not be placed near the City Hall, due to ongoing renovation work, but just in front of the Grand Theatre.
There will also be a beautiful Christmas tree at the Forum Groningen, in the cavernous foyer.
