The University of Groningen (RUG) has risen 6 places in the QS World University Rankings for 2024 which were released last week.
The university now places 139th out of 1500 universities around the world. RUG takes 6th place in the rankings of Dutch universities. This year, the Delft University of Technology was ranked as the best university in the country and the 54th-best university in the world.
RUG has ranked 214th for sustainability globally, placing it 6th among the universities in the Netherlands.
The university also ranked 311th for Citations per faculty, 140th for the number of international students, and 159th for international faculty members.
The QS World University Rankings grade institutions according to their achievements in five categories: research and academic reputation, employment outcomes, learning experience, global engagement and sustainability.
The 2024 list marks the 20th edition of QS World University Rankings. They cover over 1,500 institutions across more than a hundred countries, and are unique in emphasizing sustainability and employability.
The 2024 rankings are the most comprehensive QS World Rankings to be released to date.
