Groningen turned white on Thursday as the season’s first real snow clung to the foliage, roofs, and streets.
Earlier this week, residents were greeted with light, wet snow in the province that quickly melted. However, weather forecasts spoke of more snow to come.
Even though Weeronline has said before there will be winter precipitation in the form of hale and wet snow, most of the city was dusted with a very visible layer of snow throughout most of Thursday. The snowfall is expected to continue into the night but is likely to melt as temperatures rise above 0 degrees again.
