The project, which is a collaboration between several sustainability organizations, focuses on inspiring entrepreneurs to rethink energy consumption within their own businesses.
The event will feature a four-hour long tour through Ikea Groningen and Mediacentrale, the two main sustainable businesses contributing to the day. A key element of the day’s presentations, according to the Groningen Ondernemers Courant, is how to measure and manage CO2 emissions from a sustainability perspective.
“In 2030, we aim to be 100% circular and climate positive,” says Ikea Groningen location director Stefan Kroes in conversation with the Groningen Ondernemers Courant. This means reaching zero percent CO2 emissions worldwide, he clarifies.
According to the event’s agenda, visitors can expect a guided tour through both Ikea Groningen and Mediacentrale, as well as some drinks and snacks at the end of the day.
The sustainable business day is one of many ‘green’ events taking place in Groningen this summer. On June 11th, sustainable homeowners will be opening their doors to eager Groningen residents for a free showcase. Check out our previous coverage on the Sustainable Homes Day here!
