Previously only the GGD Utrecht could provide the required conversion of a non-EU vaccine certificate

As reported by RTV Noord, Groningen is to become the second location in the Netherlands where people can get their non-Dutch Coronavirus vaccination certificate converted into a Dutch CoronaCheck QR code.
The GGD Utrecht is the only health authority at present that can process the conversion, leading to long (telephone) queues as people try to get their non-EU certificated validated.
Across the Netherlands, people have had to show a negative test or vaccine proof QR code on the Dutch Coronacheck (or another EU member state) app to gain entry to indoor leisure outlets like pubs and restaurants.
The GGD Groningen will be given powers to issue the QR codes from Saturday, following an official nota from the Health Minister, Hugo de Jonge, on Friday.
