“They sell dangerous rubbish”
Dr. Arie Dijkstra, a professor at the RUG’s psychology faculty today fiercely denounced Coronavirus skeptics in the Netherlands, who have united to form the group ‘Virus madness’. According to Dijkstra, this group sells dangerous ideas, and must be combated before anything serious occurs as a result of their actions.
As reported by the Dagblad van het Noorden, the Groningen professor is taking a stand against movements such as #ikdoenietmeermee and the group Virus Madness.
According to Dijkstra, the government’s general measures against the Coronavirus seem to have worked out this far, but that support for the measures is rapidly crumbling, because in the eyes of many the threat of the virus is not realistic.
Dijkstra says that despite the work of the RIVM public health agency, other voices are making themselves heard. ‘Virus Truth’ founder Willem Engel is one that Dijkstra wishes to denounce in particular.
