It’s the time of year when packages are being delivered in high volumes all over city. Perhaps because of the more frequent deliveries, police say they are seeing an increase in those packages being stolen. The reports, according to police, are coming in more frequently over the last two weeks, especially in the city center.
The police have called on the drivers not to leave the doors of the vehicles open.

“Couriers frequently leave the door open ‘for a moment’ to quickly deliver a package,” police said on Instagram. “It’s a great opportunity for the thieves’ guild to make their move.”
Police are hopeful by getting the word out about the threat they may be able to deflect some of those thefts. “Disappoint the thieves, lock that door!” they advise.
