One of Reclameland in Westerboek’s most popular models is a Clooney mask
Groninger company Reclameland has recently launched a line of custom face masks to huge success, the GIC reports. Some of the more popular choices include a George Clooney mask, and a clown’s face.
Whilst face-masking requirements in the Netherlands are not yet a legal obligation, this is likely to change. And so large numbers of custom masks have left the Reclameland premises in the last week: the number of orders has increased tenfold, with more than 5,000 masks per day being ordered.
Reclameland has been selling printed face masks for two weeks and has already sold more than twenty thousand of them. “We had already noticed that there was a demand for masks, but due to the reticence and lack of clarity from the government, we had deliberately not included them in our range,” explains CEO Wouter Haan.
“In the meantime, a kind of culture shift has arisen: wearing a mouth mask is more normal and in some places you are now looked at strange if you don’t wear one.” After the press conference, the printing company immediately saw the number of mouth masks orders increase tenfold.
