Groningen is once again hosting the ESNS (Eurosonic Noorderslag) music festival: from today, January 19th, until Saturday, the festival will feature no less than 213 bands from all over Europe. Just like last year, the event will be held almost completely online.
But what to expect from these 4 days? ESNS is not only a non-profit showcase festival for exclusively European artists, but also an international music conference where to find panels, keynotes, interviews and meetings about the latest developments in the European and international music industry. The theme of the conference this year is “Building Back Better Together”.
ESNS officially started this morning with a keynote speech by European Commissioner Frans Timmermans, who talked about The Green Deal and the recovery of the music sector after the pandemic.
On Saturday, Noorderslag will feature an all-Dutch line-up. The exclusive sets will be streamed on three different channels within the platform.
The festival can be viewed for free at 3fm.nl/esns. Tickets for the conference are available for €99 via esns.nl/tickets
