The 37-year old man has 11 reports of abuse against him
A 37-year old man in Groningen has been arrested under suspicion of child abuse. The man owns Groningen Dance Center, a street dance school that enters performers up to an international level. Abuse has been reported eleven times against the owner.
Most of the members who reported the crime were minors, according to the Public Prosecution Service. The man’s custody has recently been extended for ninety days reports the GIC.
In a letter to members and students at the dance school, seen by the GIC, the board of the dance school calls on possible victims and witnesses to report to the police. The lessons will continue in the near future.
The board of the dance school wants to continue with its activities, according to the letter. “Our goal is to stay together as a dance family and as a center, to discover and develop dance talent. For us it is clear that the current owner no longer plays a role. We ask for your trust and support to face a new future with us, in a safe environment. ”
The suspect founded the dance school in 2004. The dance school grew into one of the largest in the city.
However, according to De Telegraaf newspaper, the suspect is possibly the brother of a police officer found to have a kilo of cocaine in his possession.
