It was fun whilst it lasted / why can’t we have nice things?

The German virtual airline ‘Green Airlines’ will stop all of its flights from Groningen Airport Eelde, because it no longer has any planes.
The company had previously leased two Embraer E190 planes from the company German Airways (which itself only has five planes), and has not been able to renew its licensing agreement. As reported by the GIC.
Previously, Green Airways had planned to regularly fly from Eelde to summer holiday staples Ibiza, Faro, Mallorca; and Corfu. From September Green Airlines had hoped to begin flights to Turku in Finland, but all flights have now been cancelled.
Green Airlines had no planes in its ownership, instead it focussed on sales and marketing using planes leased from other companies. The name is due to the airline carbon-offsetting its emissions. Allegedly, a new leasing partner is being sought.
