Right in front of my house is NOT private land
The 200 green electric shared scooters from GO Sharing will remain in Groningen, despite the Gemeente Groningen not giving them a license to park in public spaces. In an Elon Musk-worthy flaunting of public regulations, GO Sharing will start working with its own fixed parking spaces from 1 July, spread throughout the city.
In addition, they are slashing the price of their service: from €0.15 per minute and parking from €0.03 per minute, reports the GIC.
GO Sharing was the first and, with 200 electric scooters, the largest provider of shared scooters in Groningen, however, the gemeente decided to instead give two permits to its rivals: Felyx and Check.
According to GO Sharing, there were so many reactions and statements of support that it was decided to continue the sharing concept in Groningen, but from fixed, private parking spaces.
From 1 July, GO Sharing’s green electric shared scooters can be found and parked on, among others, Turfsingel, at business centers at Zernikepark, Leonard Springerlaan, Friesestraatweg and at EM2 on Suikerlaan. The shared scooters can be used 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
GO Sharing wants to further expand the number of parking spaces in the coming period and asks companies and individuals who want to collaborate by making their private property available as a parking space to contact business@go-sharing.com.
