Assen is the first city in Drenthe to get the electric scooters
The scooter sharing company Go Sharing has installed a hundred electric scooters in Assen, making it the first place in Drenthe where the sharing scooters can be accessed, RTV Drenthe reports.
After registration in the Go Sharing app, anyone with a driver’s license can use the scooters, which are accessible 24 hours a day. Users pay per minute.
Zones have been designated in the municipality of Assen where scooters may be driven and parked. Parking is now allowed in designated areas of the center and in the Marsdijk, Kloosterveen, De Lariks, Noorderpark and Assen-Oost districts.
Parking is prohibited in the station area and in the heart of the city, such as the Koopmansplein and the Triade shopping center. In all other places, the scooter may be parked briefly for a fee, but the user must eventually move the scooter to a green zone.
Go Sharing says it wants to bring about ‘a behavioral change’ with the scooters. “From everyone’s own vehicle to use when you need it. In this way, together with our users, we ensure less traffic congestion and a reduction in the use of space for parking spaces”, says CEO Raymon Pouwels.
