The village of Niekerk had only created the rainbow crossing a few days earlier
The municipality of Westerkwartier – west of the city of Groningen – has filed a report with the police after someone vandalised a rainbow zebra crossing in the village of Niekerk.
As reported by the GIC, someone decided to vandalise the crossing on Saturday night. The municipality of Westerkwartier has now reported this to the police, and the Gemeente is now in the process of cleaning and repairing the path.
The path with the rainbow colors was built in honor of the 25th anniversary of camping De Heerenborgh in Niekerk. This Friday, the alderman Elly Pastoor of the municipality of Westerkwartier will open the rainbow zebra crossing.
