The Gemeente would like to build one place for construction workers to live
Translated by Thomas Ansell
Workers for businesses in Eemshaven could be provided with temporary housing, so says the college (a council formed of the mayor and wethouders) of Gemeente Het Hogeland, and as reported by RTV Noord.
Due to the arrival of new businesses and the growth of existing companies in the area, the coming years will bring a huge amount of building activity to the region. Naturally, this requires workers, who will need somewhere to live. At present there is a shortage of suitable housing in the immediate surrounds of Eemshaven, and the idea for a single-location for housing would help alleviate this shortage.
It is hoped that the housing will have space for an estimated 700 workers, in one central location. It is expected that a location will be found for this before the summer holidays.
The College has specified that this location will be communicated to local residents in due course. It is hoped that the housing will be available for use this year.
