“Are you a sports club in financial need, or on the brink of being one? Let yourself be heard, then we will talk,” said Jongman on Wednesday afternoon.
Dvhn reported that the municipality of Groningen is opening a special sports counter for clubs that are struggling to keep their heads above water due to the Coronavirus measures, just as it has for entrepreneurs in the city. “The sooner we know about the problems, the better we can help solve them,” said Jongman.
“Clubs are extremely important for sports”
“We can imagine that it is difficult to make ends meet, now that the grandstands and canteens have to remain closed,” says Jongman, “but after the Coronavirus crisis ends, the sports clubs must be able to continue, they are extremely important for sports in the municipality. That is why I want to help them as well.”
