All of the outlets on the Vismarkt will be involved
A pub terrace will sprout on one of the largest squares in Groningen: yesterday, the city council agreed to a proposal of the the Mayor and City Counsel Members, to set up a terrace on the Vismarkt.
On the days when there is a market, the terrace will only be there from 20:00, until 02:00, but on days when there is no market, the large terrace is open from 12:00 to 02:00. As reported by the GIC. Market days are Tuesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays.
According to the municipality, these opening hours will remain until August 1.
The large terrace will be installed at the request of the various hospitality outlets on the square. Companies such as Huize Maas, Café Pronk and Cappuvino have barely had room for their tables and chairs, now that they have to keep to a distance of one and a half meters.
Alderman Paul de Rook (D66) informed the city council last night that this is a trial period, and that throughout the month of July it will be checked whether the terraces are not causing any inconvenience.
