There are now 196 people suffering from the Coronavirus in a hospital in the North
Since Tuesday, seven more people have been admitted to a Northern hospital due to the Coronavirus, making a total of 196. The figures come via the Acute Care Network Northern Netherlands (AZNN), RTV Noord reports.
Every Tuesday and Friday, the AZNN publishes how many COVID-19 patients have been admitted to the nine northern hospitals, but numbers can literally change every hour.
The pressure on hospitals remains worryingly high: in the nine northern hospitals, there are still a few dozen nursing beds available before everything is full. There are only about ten beds left in the nine hospitals Intensive Care Units, too.
On Wednesday, Peter van der Voort, IC head of the UMCG, said that he expects the pressure to increase even further in the coming weeks; this is partly due to partygoers on King’s Day.
